I would say that the main difference is that you can use string.ToCharArray() to create an array of strings, or you can use string.Split(‘\’, ‘.’).ToArray() to create an array of strings. However, if you don’t want to create an array of strings, you can use the method above to convert a string to an array of characters.

You also have the String.Join method, which takes two arrays and joins them together, but it’s so inefficient that I would not recommend using it.
