The first two chapters of this book are very detailed. Even if you read just one chapter, it’s worth the investment of getting your math out of the way. I’ve been working on my math for a few months now, and I think I did pretty well for myself this summer.
If you want to convert string to number, read this book: “How to Convert String to Number” by Michael J. S. Williams. This book has a lot of good ideas. This is one of the best books I’ve read in years.
This is another great book. It really shows you what you can do with some good practice in your home-schooling. I did this with a young girl from the Bronx who came to me with a math problem. It involved making a bunch of decimals from a string, and she did a great job working in parallel with me until she had done all the work.
I dont know how I would have been able to do this with my students had I not been reading this book. A great way to learn numbers and also a great way to learn about the world in general, with a bit of fun.
I love when I see a young girl who is so excited to learn something and then makes it so much more fun that they forget that she had already learned it in school.
The only thing I didn’t like about this method is the fact that it’s a little awkward to remember which method to use to get the desired results. I love that you can convert a string to a number, but when it comes to converting that number to a number, you have to remember which method to use.
