I find matlab a really good place to start in my research. I’ve never done any research, and I do have a number of matlab projects that have been done without any luck. There are a few things that I would start with, but I would start with the basics. For me, the easiest thing to start with is to make a few simple functions that you can use in matlab to do some of your basic arctan calculations.
